Every year, thousands of Nigerian students enroll in Canadian universities and colleges, seeking quality education and global exposure. However, international tuition payments, deposits, and fund transfers remain complex and frustrating for both students and their families. Surprisingly, there has been no dedicated digital solution tailored to streamline this critical process — until now. A forward-thinking client approached Reasonex Limited, a leading UI/UX design agency, to build a mobile-first solution that would revolutionize the way international students manage school-related finances. We accepted the challenge and began crafting a powerful, intuitive, and secure cross-border payment app, focused specifically on the education finance needs of Nigerian students studying in Canada.

Problem :

International students from Nigeria often face complex, time-consuming, and unreliable processes when trying to pay tuition fees to Canadian institutions. Traditional bank transfers are slow, expensive, and lack transparency, while existing financial apps don’t cater to the unique needs of cross-border education payments. Families struggle to send money securely and on time, and students risk delays in enrollment or access to services due to payment issues.
Challenges :

Despite the growth in cross-border education, there was no dedicated digital platform focused on simplifying tuition and fee payments from Nigeria to Canada. Our challenge was to design a mobile solution that: Handles multi-currency accounts (NGN & CAD) Enables fast, secure money transfers Integrates school fee payment features Builds trust through a user-friendly and transparent experience Educates first-time users in financial processes Additionally, the app had to address regulatory, technical, and UX design constraints for both Nigerian and Canadian systems.
Solution :

We designed an intuitive FinTech mobile app specifically tailored for international students and their families. The platform features real-time exchange rates and dual wallet visibility for both Nigerian Naira (₦) and Canadian Dollar (C$), giving users clear insight into their finances. With one-tap actions for deposits, transfers, and school fee payments, the app ensures a smooth and efficient experience. It’s optimized for mobile, with a secure and frictionless interface that builds trust and reduces user effort. To support first-time users, we incorporated guided onboarding and helpful reminders for account verification and upcoming fee deadlines. The clean, visually clear design minimizes confusion and enhances usability, resulting in a student-first financial solution that simplifies international tuition payments, allowing families to focus on education, not paperwork.
